What I say:

I have found that these lip sticks go on smoothly and last for hours, and even more so if you combine them with the lip liners, stains and glosses.  I was shocked to find that my favorites are actually Pink! I love all the colors, but for some reason I am absolutely in love with Ritzy, a very soft shimmery pale pink, it is so fantastic!

The colors are beautiful and the tubes they come in are just as beautiful. They coordinate beautifully with our Precision Lip Liners. 

My one word of warning, CHECK the ingredients before wearing!  Our Opulence Lip Stick contains Mango as one of the ingredients, which for most people is not a problem, however, there are those that are allergic or sensitive to Mango that may have problems.  I suggest that if you have allergies or sensitivities to anything, you should always check the ingredients first, just to be safe.

3D Fiber Lashes +

How can 3D Fiber Lashes be improved, they are perfectly amazing as they are!  I know this is what you are asking yourself, I have been asking myself that same exact thing!! Well I received my first set of the 3D Fiber Lashes + and I am shocked by the difference I see!!

The First difference is in the packaging alone.  Instead of the bulky case, they now come in a simple little black bag inside a sleek box.  The tubes have been modified as well, they are now silky smooth and curvy with a cool little window so you can see when you are getting near the end of the tube.  Best of all is that they are now manufactured 100% in the United States!!

Now that I have had a set and been using it for a while I can say that I LOVE how easy this is to apply!  It is the same Gel, Fibers, Gel application method as the original, however, it does not take as much Gel.  Just a light coat, then the fibers and then another light coat.  You get the results of 2 coats of the original with only one coat of 3D+ which is a time saver in my book!









The packaging makes it easier to carry in your purse, which I always do, I mean how else can I show it off? LOL  It is also easier for my nieces to carry in their school bag or with their cheer uniform! 

I love that the new formula has been tested by an Ophthalmologist.  I currently wear mainly my glasses, but I do occasionally put in a pair of contacts, and even though I have not had problems with my 3D, this fact makes me feel better, just in case I do something like stick the brush in my eye when adding the fibers (which I did just this morning) LOL! Luckily my eye is fine and even though I did get some fibers in it, they rinsed right out, with no negative side effects!

Staying Positive in the face of Daily Struggles

We all live with daily struggles, some are small and some a large! Over the last couple of months mine have seemed very large!  I know on the grand scheme of things, they are relatively small but for me that are HUGE!  As a single woman, my struggles are mainly Financial, I never seem to have enough money to cover everything that I need to pay so I am always late on something.  Truthfully it sucks!!

I work full time, 40+ hours a week, at a job that I used to love, and now dread.  I am no longer happy with my position or doing the same stuff day after day after day.   I know this will change, I know that I have a great position with an amazing income for someone with only a high school GED and limited college.  I am just in a funk that I cant seem to dig myself out of, but I WILL, I always do!

In August 2013 I made the conscious decision to attend the first ever Younique Convention, and I LOVED IT!  I do not regret that decision one bit, however, the money it took for me to get there, that should have went to pay bills instead, is a mistake that i have not yet been able to fix. Around this same time, my refrigerator died, my dishwasher died, and then shortly there after my Washer and Dryer both died. and I got behind on some payments, and then somehow I was a month or two or more late on everything!  I have tried to catch up and for the last 2 years I just keep falling further and further behind!  

Almost 5 months ago my friends decided to take the trip to Mexico that I had been asking them to take for several years, but I did not have the funding to go, so they went without me.  I was so happy for them and so very pissed at myself for letting my situation get to that point!  I pulled a copy of my credit report from every agency and made up a spreadsheet that outlined everything. I then estimated what my pay check would be for every payday between then and the end of the year.  I went through all my expenses, and changed what utilities I could to save money, then budgeted out how much I would have extra each month to put towards my debts.

At this point I was confident that I could get a handle on it within a year.  Then I got the court summons from an attorney hired by one the collection agencies.  That took me to my knees instantly!  I reevaluated my plans with them being the first priority, and contacted them to start payments.  Luckily it was small and I had three pay checks in May so I paid them off with the last check in May.  I also paid off my car, Yipee!!!

I reevaluated my spread sheet and had a plan in place to start on the next set of bills, while saving for the next convention and was feeling so much better, then I was hit by another court summons from another collection agency!  I have now once again set up a payment plan, not for the one I had intended to pay off next, but for the one that took me to court! My financial life is a mess!!! and because of it, I am sick all the time! My health is at risk because of the stress and fear that I am dealing with on a daily basis!

By now I am sure you are wondering why I am telling you all this, I mean really why would you care about my financial struggles?  Sometimes I don't even care!! 

Well through this all I have had Younique!  My small income from my Younique business has allowed me to still go to the movies with my friends once in a while, go to lunch, or dinner or heck even just buy groceries, and gas for my car!  Without my Younique income, which is very small because I have not built a team and do not work it like I should, I would be asking my family for help with groceries, or going to the food bank for whatever I could get from them.  But through all of this, my posts on facebook and the way I interact with people is positive!  I am trying to stay positive and in order to do so, I act positive in everything I do!!

Some posts something negative on my wall - Delete! - Someone says something negative about someone or something - Ignored! - A fellow presenter makes a negative comment in our group about the company, Delete - My LIFE has no room for negativity, I WILL NOT live that way any longer!  I WILL SUCCEED! I WILL OVERCOME my financial difficulties and I WILL turn my daily struggles into daily TRIUMPHS!!  

You are what you do and believe and I BELIEVE THAT POSITIVITY BREEDS POSITIVITY and negativity breeds negativity, which would you rather have in your life?

Younique has been such a blessing to me, and now I get to go on a Jamaica Cruise for FREE with a friend, so that I can get that time away that I so desperately need.  I know that after this vacation, I will be back to loving my job and my life and all my daily struggles will seem just a little smaller. 

I will continue to pay off the debts and work my Younique business, while focusing on my health.   I will continue to assist my customers to best of my ability and train my team to do the same! 

I also know that no matter what the lord has in store for me I will face it with a positive attitude!

Three Little Words and One Amazing Company that Changed my Life!!!

In October 2012 I made a spur of the moment decision to spend my last $112.00 ($99 kit plus tax and shipping) to join this company called Younique, after reading a simple story about the founders and then reading the Mission Statement:

At the time I joined there were no products available, no website, no anything, but an inspirational Mission Statement that made me want to be a part of this company.  BEST DECISION EVER!!!!!

With Younique I received a new family, over 200,000 presenters world wide, that have become my #YSisters (and brothers), they support and encourage me as I support and encourage them.  We all work to help each other because together we will all succeed.

I went into this with the idea that starting at the beginning of a company, the ground floor, I am presenter #83, would allow me the time to build my business in order to supplement my retirement from my everyday job.  I can officially retire in 2029, so I have lots of time.  I have not pushed and worked my business as much as a lot of the other presenters have.  As of now, I have only advanced to Pink Status, and been paid as Pink only once, but I did it! I have lots of time to keep advancing and I will hit Black Status before I retire!

So by now I bet you are wondering just what #Younique has done for me that make me say Younique has changed my life, am I right?  Well I have spent the last 2 years and 8 months, learning about myself, and stepping out of my comfort zone, and for someone like me this is HUGE, and I still have a long way to go.

Since joining Younique I have had so many blessing bestowed on me, that I am forever grateful to Derek Maxfield, his wife Shelaine Maxfield, Melanie Huscroft and my sponsor, Nichole Smith, and so many others that I can't name them all.  They are each responsible in one way or another for my increasing self confidence, and feeling of self worth, and for that alone I love each and every one of them!

In addition to bringing me out of my shell, Younique and given me a small supplemental income. Since I have not build a huge team it is not a large income, yet, but I know that it will be.  Up till now it has allowed me to pay my bills with my paychecks and use my awesome purple debit card to pay for things like dinner with friends, lunches, movies, and one month my income was large enough to cover my entire Maui vacation!

I have now, thanks to my little purple Younique debit card, paid off my SUV, so I no long have a car payment; it has also helped me pay off another debt, and I hope within the next 12-18 months to be completely out of debt, with the exception of my home.  For me this is AMAZING!!!!

Since the start of the company Younique has done incentive trips, this year it is a cruise to Jamaica.  We had until the end of May to acquire enough points, through a number of methods, to secure a spot on the cruise.  We needed 25,000 points for one person and 40,000 points to bring a guest.  I worked my business like I never had and because my team is still so small, no matter what I did, I was not able to get the necessary points.  I ended up with less than 5,000 - but it was so much fun watching the posts on facebook and celebrating with all my #YouniqueFamily their success in earning this cruise.

Younique announced a couple of days ago that everyone who earned the cruise will get to take a guest with them, which is amazing; but they also announced that ALL the Black Status Presenters would be given 2 packages for a presenter and a guest to go on the cruise also, that they could distribute to anyone in their team in any manner they wish.

Nichole, my incredible sponsor made a video describing how she would be handling this give away, she split her tickets up and gave one for things the presenter was doing, and the other will go to the presenter with the highest PRS this month.

The video starts with her saying all these wonderful things about this presenter, and as I am watching it I keep thinking, that sounds like Lindsey (a fellow team member, who is simply awesome!) and then she says something along the lines of "So I just have to ask, Pamela Graham who are you taking to Jamaica with you" and I honestly had to back up the video a couple of times to make sure that she had really said my name!!!!

I AM GOING TO JAMAICA!!!!! and I GET TO TAKE A FRIEND!!!!!  All we have to do is make it to Miami and Younique is paying for the rest!!

I am still in complete shock that all the nice things she was saying were about ME!  It stuns me that someone described in such a nice way, could actually be me!  Who knew!

I decided right away that I am taking my friend Amy Marlett.  I met Amy when I was 7 years old, she was 6, and now 39 years later, she is still my best friend.  She knows all my secrets and loves me anyway, and no matter how much distance and time has separated us over the years, we always pick up right where we left off.  Now we get to spend some time just relaxing on a cruise to Jamaica!!!

Yes Younique has changed my life, for the better, in small and large ways.  I will forever be grateful to all those involved with Younique for helping me to live up to those three little words!

Stiff Upper Lip - Lip Stains

OMG!!!!! I Honestly never thought I would like let alone LOVE a Lip Stain!  Now I LOVE 7 of them!!

My past experiences with lip stains have left me wanting a better product.  My lips always felt extremely dry and rough after using a stain. They never lasted as long as promised and would fade or disappear completely before I finished my cup of coffee and they never made it to lunch let alone dinner - I hated them!!!

Are there monthly quotas to meet?

Divine Moisturizer by Younique

I absolutely LOVED Brilliant Moisturizing Gel and was devastated that it was being replaced.  I have been using it since it came out and my skin looks and feels amazing.

I told myself that it would be OK, it would take time, but I would survive the transition and that being in an airless pump was a great thing and would be so much easier than scooping up a little ball and some gel.  I had convinced myself that nothing could replace my Brilliant, and boy was I wrong!!

Brilliant has now been replaced with Divine Daily Moisturizer; here is what the website says about it: A supremely divine daily moisturizer that has been formulated for all skin types - we call that Divine! This new formulation has fewer preservatives and comes in an airless pump.

I received the Divine about 2 weeks ago, and have used it everyday since, as I have said before I am pretty bad about washing my face at night, however, I have been trying to do that every night so that I can use my Uplift Eye Serum, and have been doing pretty well at it.  So after washing and applying the uplift to my eye area, I apply my Divine; and I honestly can say that I love it MORE than I loved Brilliant!!

Divine is sooooo much easier to use; one little pump does the entire face! It is very smooth and silky and my skin loves it! I honestly did not think that my face could feel any better than it did with Brilliant, but with Divine it is does!

There is no smell with Divine, and even though it faded quickly the smell of green peppers with the Brilliant was sometime a little bit much, so I am very thankful for the lack of smell.

Normally by the time I wake in the morning, my face feels a little oily and dirty, so I wash it right away with my Illuminate Clear Cleanser, but with having applied Divine before bed, my skin does not have that same feeling in the morning.  I still wash and reapply my Divine, but will admit that on the weekends, when I am not leaving home, I sometime completely skip the face washing.  Of course that is also the days when I stay in my pajamas all day long! LOVE those days!!

Moodstruck Precision Pencils - Eye & Lip Liners

Let me start by saying that I have always preferred Pencil liners over liquid, cream or any other kind, mainly because without my glasses I cant see, and most brushes have to be positioned a certain way which does not allow me to get close enough to the mirror to see what I am doing, so I end up looking like this photo!

So I gave up on anything other than pencils long ago!

At our 2014 Convention I received all 15 Moodstruck Precision Pencils Eye & Lip Liners, I was excited to try them right away!   The Eye liners are available in 10 wonderful colors and the Lip Lines in 5 different shades.

Generally with a pencil style liner, the tend to pull at the skin on the eye and can be difficult to apply.  The Moodstruck Precision Pencils glide on smoothly.  Most of the people that have used them, say they last all day without smudging or wiping off; honestly I find that they tend to smudge on me; I believe this is because I tend to use our Primer all over, and therefore the liner does not stay as well as it does for others. However, they do not smudge any more than other liners I have used through the years, and they go on so much smoother that I still prefer them to other brands.

I love the lip liners so much that I find myself using Pouty as my lip color and then doing a light coat of lip gloss to make it shine.  They go on so easily and last throughout the day, and do not make my lips feel dry!  They also coordinate great with out Lucrative Lip Glosses!!

Holiday MarketPlace, 1 Year Later

Hello everyone!!! 

Last year I wrote about my very first event, the Holiday Marketplace, and how much I learned while there.  I have done a dozen or more events since then and this last weekend I  was once again at the Holiday Marketplace, It was phenomenal!!!

The first thing was this year I asked for a corner location with a bigger spot, so we had a prime location!  I then broke each day up into 2 shifts, and shared the space with some fellow presenters; that way we could all get our name out there and generate customers and potential presenters.

The second thing and the most obvious to me, was the tremendous increase in Brand Recognition!  The first event very few people had heard of Younique or knew what 3D Fiber Lashes were; this year our growth was evident in the number of people that knew about Younique or had at least seen or heard about our 3D Lashes!

The event was crazy busy, and most people that walked by our corner, would say things like "I have been looking for these"; "I saw these on Facebook and have to try them" or "my friend swears by these, I have to try them!"

I took the opening shift and between my team member and I we had 13 sets of 3D lashes on hand; we sold completely out in our 4 hours and could have sold more; the second shift that day sold a total of 16 sets; then on Sunday the opening shift sold out of the 15 sets she had in under 3 hours; I then had the closing 3 hour shift and thankfully a fellow presenter had a supply of 3D lashes and loaned me 10 sets, I sold out in less than 2 hours!  All total we sold 54 sets of 3D Lashes and could have sold more; and I gave out 40 catalogs and close to 100 business cards!

I have not yet heard the final head count on attendance, however, I believe it was over 1,000 and it was so much fun!! I will definitely be doing it again next year!!

Things I learned this time around, 1) I need more table cloths, that match; 2) I need a black background that can be set up on 2 sides of the booth, preferably with a large Younique Logo on 1 of the sides; 3) I need to invest in either table top stands or a black bakers rack to display products; and 4) I really need to find a nice black or silver throw rug or anti stress mat to stand on; 5) models to show off the product; and 6) bring LOTS of 3D Lashes!!!

I have several more events and in home parties scheduled through the end of the year, and I know that 2015 will be my year!! Younique is my future and I am so glad to be a part of it!

Illuminate by Younique - My Thoughts

First let me start by saying, I am so sorry it has been so long since my last post! Life got busy and honestly I forgot, that apparently comes with age! 

If you read my previous post about Awake, the Younique Facial Cleanser, then you should remember how much I LOVED that Product!!  I was honestly saddened by the thought that it was being replaced. I understood why and had faith that Melanie and Derek, would ensure that the new product was equal to or better than Awake, but I was still sad about it being retired.

At the 2014 Convention, we were given both the Illuminate Clear and the Illuminate Clean and I have tried them both.

Illuminate Clean is ALL NEW made in the USA, and formulated for normal to dry skin, or for people

with very sensitive skin. Made with superleaf extracts, Ginkgo biloba, and horse chestnut, Illuminate Clean has a more mild formula that is still powerful enough to gently cleanse your sensitive skin.

I honestly like that way this cleans my face, I have more of a combination skin, so this did not do as well as the original Awake, but still did a great job.  I was pleased with the results I received, even though it took more product that I was expecting. 

I have not confirmed why, but I believe it is due to the strict requirements for products being sold in the United Kingdom, and we have just recently launched in the UK.


Illuminate Clear is the replacement for Awake, and contains the same key ingredients, but our Product Development team has refined the formula and brought the manufacturing to the USA so it can be produced on a larger scale, and more easily maintain complete control over the proprietary formula.

This replacement is not the gorgeous silver color that Awake was, nor does it have the amazing clean scent that Awake had; it is a pale gray color with no scent.  HOWEVER, I can honestly say that I love the way it works, MORE than I loved Awake!!  I thought my face was clean before, but now it is cleaner than ever before!! This product is simply amazing!!!

Younique has taken great steps in product development, that included hiring a Chief Scientific Officer, Mukhtar Siddiqui, who has worked in the beauty and cosmetic industry forever!

Younique 2nd Annual Convention!!

OMG!!!! The 2nd Annual Younique Convention was AMAZING!!!!!

I have no idea how I can put into words what I have learned and experienced at this years convention, however, I am sure going to try my best!!  This will be long, but there is so much to say! Most of the photos in this post were taken by some of my beautiful #YSisters and others by me.

To start with I ran into a fellow Team Diva member at the Anchorage Airport, we shared the flight all the way down, along with numerous other presenters, then shared the shuttle to the Gaylord Texan. 

This resort/hotel/convention center was gorgeous!  The staff was so helpful and polite, and you only saw them when you needed something, otherwise they just blended in with crowds. 

The facility was clean, and the beds were soooo comfortable!  I would LOVE one for my house!

As soon as I dropped my bags off in my room I headed out to see what I could see, and as I wandered around the first person I ran into just happened to be one of our Founders, Melanie Maxfield Huscroft and her family.  She greeted me with a "Pamela, so glad you could come" and a big hug, it was a great way to start out my weekend!

Immediately after that I ran into Shelaine Maxfield, a Fellow Founding Presenter and the wife of Derek Maxfield, our Founder and CEO.  She also welcomed me with a hug, and by now I was feeling amazing!!

I spent a couple of hours wandering around the hotel grounds meeting fellow presenters everywhere, most of whom I have only known through facebook.  Having never met in person, we all greeted each other with hugs and the phrase "so happy to meet you in person" was said on numerous occasions.  It was Facebook come to life, with us all truly acting like the #YSisters we are. 

From there I made my way up to my incredible sponsor, Nichole's suite to help her hand out t-shirts. There were hundreds of them!! While there I met numerous other presenters and my team mate and roommate for the weekend, Christie.  She is such a wonderful person, and so much fun, I am so glad that we shared a room!

The convention began with lunch on Friday and then the first General Session, where we were introduced to the amazing Jason Hewlett, our Emcee for the entire convention, and our first speaker.  If you have never heard of Jason Hewlett, please google him, he is simply hilarious!  He does family friendly comedy and is someone that you can take your kids to see without fear that he would be inappropriate in any way!  LOVED HIM!!

We then moved on to 3 Breakout Sessions: 1) How to Create a Culture of Success within Your Team, with Jaron Winder; 2) 10 Movie Quotes to Adapt Into Your Younique Business with Christine Strong; and 3) Highlighting & Contouring 101 with Mickey Gunn.

Each of these sessions were packed with great information that will help me and all the other presenters succeed in our Younique businesses.

Those were followed by the next General Session where the incomparable Mona Ameli spoke about the 7 Pillars of Success and Leadership!  This session was incredible!  Look her up and you will see just how fabulous she is!

Following Mona, our Black Status Presenters held classes: 1) Care Cloyd & Brook Gray: How to Maximize Party Sales; 2) Valari Ingrbrigtsen & Amy King: Building Your Team and What it Means to "Sponsor"; 3) Cara Ramey & Shawn Nelson: Advancing and Maximizing the Comp Plan; 4) Ameber Voight & Jess Parizek: Coaching, Mentoring, and Building Leaders.  All the classes were great and a whole lot of fun, seeing as how they had all been where we are now, it was interesting to hear what worked for them and how to incorporate some of that into our own businesses.

Dinner that evening was a Texas BBQ and sooo yummy! Followed by the Product Reveal section of the evening, then dancing and even some Bull Riding!

7. Blusher will become a pressed powder starting November 1
8. New formulations will be EU Compliant!
9. New Collections will debut in November as well.
10. Almost all products except 3 (patenting reasons) will be formulated and manufactured in the USA!

The second day was just as wonderful as the first!  Our First General Session included our Keynote Speaker Bill Rancic! He talked about starting his Mail Order Cigar club, being on the first Apprentice and was an all around great guy!  He was fabulous and then he hung around to take pictures with all of us.  I am the plus size woman in the gray pants under the word Moodstruck! 

Following the General Session was another 3 breakout sessions: 1) Live, Love and Share Your Business with Stacy San Juan, Head of Marketing for Younique - LOVED THIS CLASS!; 2) Social Media with Shama Kabani - Simply Amazing Class!; and 3) Daytime to Drama Makeup with Mickey Gunn. 

These were followed by another General Session where the outstanding Traci Bild spoke about "Getting Your Girl Back" such a powerful and moving session! Look her up and you will realize that we should all Get our Girl Back!

Next were the same classes from the previous day with different Black Status Presenters: 1) Shari Brown & Cindy Brancato: How to Maximize Party Sales; 2) Briana Richardson & Amanda Blockson: Building Your Team and What it Means to "Sponsor"; 3) Whitney Husband & Lauren Pipak: Advancing and Maximizing the Comp Plan; 4) Nichole Smith (my Sponsor) & Julie Leonard: Coaching, Mentoring, and Building Leaders.

We then had our Formal Awards Dinner followed by our Speaker Eva DeVirgilis, and actress/makeup artists, who spoke about how she sees those in her makeup chair.  She is an incredible speaker and you can find her on Youtube, look her up, you will not regret it!

Then cam the awards, where so many of our presenters received fabulous awards!  My Sponsor Nichole Smith, presenter #36 received quite a few.  She more than deserved these and more!

 

The our Founders spoke, first Melanie, followed by Derek, who paused for a moment and brought Cara Ramey up to speak about her situation and how Younique has helped her. 

 

Cara is the sister of our Founders, and having had a difficult delivery with her last child, she was completely bed ridden and suffering from financial hardship due to overwhelming medical bills.  Younique changed her life, and she has not crossed off ever item on her dream board!  I cry every time I hear her story!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After Cara, Derek came back up and talked about Younique, and our new Car Program, launching in the UK (October 1, so contact me if you or anyone you know is in the UK and wants to Join!) and our growth, which is huge! But then he spoke about my favorite announcement from the convention.  He told us about the Younique Foundation.

Let's Talk Primer - Glorious Primer that is!!

I have used Mineral Makeup off and on for over 15 years; this included the Primer that was needed to ensure sufficient coverage.  I generally hated the feel of the primer, to me if felt oily or even sticky, and having to have a second primer just for my eyes was truly annoying!!

Based on my past experiences I was honestly hesitant to try Glorious when it was released; I loved the thought of a Face and Eye Primer all in one, but really did not want to spend money on yet another Primer that I would hate!

Glorious has the PERFECT name - It is truly a Glorious Product!!  From day 1 I have loved the silky feel of it, and even on my stay at home, no makeup days, I apply my Glorious Primer!  I LOVE the way it makes my skin feel.

I have naturally curly hair that tends to look a little fuzzy at times, so I use various products to help smooth the curls or assist in making it feel smooth when I run the flat iron over it.  I was out of my usual products and was wanting to flat iron my hair, I look over and see my beautiful bottle of Glorious sitting on the counter and thought "It works so great on my skin, why not try it on my hair!"

The Primer also works great for using the pigments on your eye brows and in your hair; it helps the colors blend easier and stay on longer.

These 2 photos show the difference between the application of the pigments dry and with Glorious, the different is very noticeable, especially on the lighter shades where you can barely see them dry and with primer they are clearly visible!
